The title of this blog post should be suggestive - some brief thoughts about the all illusive quest for things to be perfect. Here at Bay Area Installations, we have a unique view of how to approach our own search for perfection.
The problem with perfection, is that we don't live in a perfect world. So it is very interesting that we nonetheless have a very vivid image of perfection. How can we have an idea of somthing that we don't experience and have never experienced? But leaving ontological phliosophy aside, let's turn to a practical example of what I'm talking about - this website!
Upon rolling out our new website, we noticed that we started getting quote requests from more customers we had never heard of before! What's more, they weren't among the usual new customer profiles, where someone has recommended us by name, and the person inquiring calls, or emails one of us directly. Instead, these quote requests were emailed directly to our operations department, and we compliment them for their shrewed choice to copy Ops.
So the other day we decide to confirm that these new customers were actually a result of our website - we asked one of them - and they confirmed! But they also said that they had tried to use our "request quote" form on our website...and it didn't work!
Imagine our disappointment - of course we had been working on the website for months and it had been fully tested and proofed. Somehow, however, we missed that one. But that's where perfection comes in. The bottom line is, it is not a perfect world. In fact, try as we might, we will invariably make mistakes. When we don't, there will invariably be times when we are negatively affected by the mistakes of others. The only thing we can do in these situations, is to continue to conduct ourselves as well as possible. That is, according to our company philosophy, the only coherent way to actively seek perfection. Turn negatives into positives. When you have a website malfunction, use it as an opportunity for a blog post topic!
There you have it - this is the attitude you will find when you work with Bay Area Installations. When things don't go perfectly, we let our good actions transform them into opportunities and keep on striving for perfection.
